Backyard Pool & Gazebo Design in New York
▶ 3D walkthrough
About this project
Mauricio's backyard in New York was a narrow lot between the house and a tall hedge, so every foot counted. We set a rectangular in-ground pool along the long side and pushed a hardtop gazebo into the back corner, which gives the family a shaded lounge without blocking the view of the water.
The patio is laid in a large grey-and-white checkerboard paver pattern that runs from the back door all the way around the pool. A raised stone landing at the house steps down to a row of chaise loungers, so there is a clear path from the kitchen to the pool deck.
For the evening renders we added warm step lights, uplighting on the hedge and pool lighting. The space reads just as well at night as it does in daylight.
